STRENGTH OF COLOR AND VALUE – 3 day workshop
June 16-18, 2018
STRENGTH OF COLOR AND VALUE in acrylics is an intermediate level workshop and Michael will do in-depth demos which allow students to get inside his head to see and understand the decisions that he makes that contribute to his success. The purpose and focus will be to create drama, contrast and mood in our work, as well as specific applications such as values, focal point technique, soft and hard edges, transparent and opaque layers, composition and design. Michael will share his expertise about being intuitive in the process of painting. He will demo each morning, followed by time for students to paint. Limit of 12 students to allow for maximum individual attention. Field Sketching en Plein Air will be a part of the workshop as weather permits.
Please bring your own reference material of photos and/or sketches and your own easel if you wish to use one.
About The Instructor
MICHAEL O’TOOLE, is well known for his brilliantly painted acrylic works and he is a senior signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. He started his art career as a commercial artist, has painted full-time since 1992 and is a very popular workshop instructor. He works in a variety of mediums and subject matter, ranging from landscape to architectural and portraiture, all in an impressionist style.
