This 4 day workshop will explore all aspects of Plein Air Painting, all levels are welcome.

Agenda for the course  

The purpose is to discuss and clarify simplified methods to produce a successful plein-air painting .
To apply these basics in practical assignments combined with hands on demonstration and personal attention.

Personal attention will be given to each student as we capture the beauty of our natural surroundings in this wilderness setting.

Materials and Equipment:
Easel.  Umbrella,  (Chair, optional.)
Lemon Yellow.  Cad. Yellow Middle.  Cad. Red light.  Alizarin Crimson.  French Ultramarine Blue.  Cobalt Blue. Prussian Blue. (Thalo Blue) Viridian Green.  Sap Green. Yellow Ochre. Burnt Sienna.  Titanium White and Black.
Mixing medium:  Liquin or Walnut Oil Alkyd.
Cleaning solution:  Vegetable Oil or Baby Oil  (Taltine where allowed)

12” x 16” canvas or panel.  16” x 20” canvas.
.Recommended sizes and type of brushes.
Hog’s hair and synthetic. various shapes and sizes.  e.g.  Flat. Filbert and Angle.

  • $400.00 course fee (4 day workshop)
  • Accommodation ( based on double occupancy ) in log chalets and all meals are $ 85 per day/night and include breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as all snacks All of our food is made on site, homemade, wholesome and organic.
  • 10% discount for early bookings if someone books at least 3 month in advance
